Gainesville Water audit

• *Some valves doesn’t have a handle so is important to have some
locking pliers/adjustable wrench on hand to take immediate action
if we observe a valve open.
• * The audit took emphasis in the areas of the plant with least traffic
• *Its important to know what kind of fluid/water its leaking and
where it is going; harmful fluids can cause big loses if they go
thought the city sewers without proper treatment
• *We need to be watching for this kind of issues on daily basis when
most of the valves and pipes have fluids in motion.
• Medium pressure valve was not completely
closed by DeliWOG area, I got a locking pliers
to close the valve.
• The water heater tank by the
maintenance workshop is showing
some small holes where its
constantly leaking water, making
the tank look rusty. A work order will
be issued to fix it.
• Sprayers in the picking room were
open with the shackles chain not
running at the moment of the audit, a
locking pliers were used to close the
valve again.
• Valve by Emergency shower station in waste
water area wasn’t completely closed leaking
some small amount of water.
• Pipe in the hot water tank located in the
picking room seems to be missing some Thread
seal tape, probably due to the wearing that the
high temperature and steam causes on it, small
leaking was seen.
• On the Nalco Solid cooling water tank bottom there is some leaking
coming from the pipe couple, the pipe attachment may be presenting
some looseness.
