THE BODY OF CHRIST AS

ONE
1 Corinthians 12:12-27
1. YOUR PLACEMENT IN THE BODY

1 Corinthians 12:13
For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one
body--whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free--and we
were all given the one Spirit to drink.
2. YOUR POSITION IN THE BODY
A. Every believer is a part of a unit
1 Corinthians 12:14
Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

B. Every believer is placed by God

1 Corinthians 12:18
But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.

C. Every believer plays an important role

1 Corinthians 12:21-24
And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again the head to the feet, “I have no need
of you.” On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are
necessary; and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more
abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable, whereas our more
presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor
to that member which lacked,
3. YOUR PURPOSE IN THE BODY

1 Corinthians 12:25-27
so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have
the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members
suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.Now
you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.

A. To promote unity (1 Corinthians 12:25 a)

B. To practice mutual care (1 Corinthians 12:25b-26)
Conclusion

We ,as the body of christ, should participate together in the activity

of the body.
