Instructions

Put the following slides on


the menstrual cycle in
order.
An egg starts to mature in
the ovaries.
Soft lining of the uterus
starts to build up.
Ovulation (release of an
egg) occurs around day 14
of the cycle.
Egg cell moves along the
oviduct towards the uterus.
If an egg cell meets a sperm
cell, fertilization occurs. The
uterus can feed the fertilized
cell. Pregnancy occurs.
If the egg is not fertilized,
the lining of the uterus
breaks down around 14
days after ovulation.
In menstruation, the soft
lining of the uterus breaks
apart.
Uterus lining passes out of
the vagina along with some
blood.
Menstruation lasts for
approx. 3-7 days.
The cycle starts again with
another ‘period’.
The cycle stops if a woman
becomes pregnant.
