Power Evangelism
 “Power Evangelism”
Is based on the premise that if JESUS and the
apostles did signs and wonders then we can and
should do them too.

 In order for our evangelism to be effective, our

Christian lifestyle and evangelistic efforts should
include miraculous healings and words of knowledge
 A supernatural encounter with GOD
Signs and wonders
 GOD’s supernatural miraculous power breaking
into the natural world of man and doing what is
impossible by natural physical laws.
Signs Required to share the gospel
 Power evangelists believe the myth that sharing
the gospel should be accompanied by signs and
wonders. They believe that miracles will open the
hearts of people to be receptive to the good news.
They believe that we must earn the right to share
the gospel. Faith comes by seeing, and through
miracles
Scripture says:
1. Signs and wonders performed by JESUS and his
Apostles did not always lead to saving faith

 John 12:37 Even after JESUS had performed so

many signs in their presence, they still would not
believe in him.
Matthew 12:38-39

38Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the
law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign
from you.” 39HE answered, “ a wicked and
adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none
will be given it except the sign of the prophet
Jonah
2.Christ has already earned the right for us
to share the gospel
 Romans 5:8
But GOD demonstrates HIS own love for us in
this: while we were still sinners. CHRIST died for
us.
 1 Timothy 1:15
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full
acceptance: CHRIST JESUS came into the world
to save sinner-whom I am the worst.
3. GOD himself who opens the hearts of unbelievers
by HIS spirit working through HIS words
1 Thessalonians 2:13
And we also thank GOD, which you heard
from us, you accepted it not as a human word , but
as it actually is, the word of GOD, which is indeed
at work in you who believe.
Romans 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the
power of GOD that brings salvation to everyone who
believes: first to the Jew, then to the gentile. For in
the gospel righteousness of GOD is revealed a
righteousness that s by faith from first to last, just as
it is written: “ The righteousness will live by faith.
