Introduction to Hydraulics

Problem:

1.Calculate the force, F1, exerted by the operator to raise a load, F2,
of 10000N if the piston diameter of the hand pump is 6 mm and the
diameter of the load cylinder is 25 mm.

2.Calculate the number of pump cycles required to raise the load

250 mm if the pump stroke is 50 mm.

3.If the operator pumps at a rate of 1 cycle per second, determine

the power expended by the operator.
