Lab5: MS Publisher—Creating one page website Microsoft Office • Microsoft Office is an office suite of applications, servers, and services developed by Microsoft. • It can be used to type letters, create spreadsheets, make labels, and produce presentations for your home or office. • Offers suite of products that includes: Word PowerPoint Excel Outlook Publisher Project OneNote Each program serves a different purpose and is compatible with both Windows and Mac Operating System. MS-Publisher • Microsoft Publisher or MS-Publisher is a desktop publishing software that allows you to make creative documents like brochures, newsletters, flyers and greeting cards. • It's easy to use • Also allows to make websites • Starting with MS-Publisher: To open MS-Publisher, Click Start button, start menu will appear Select All programs and click Microsoft Office- Publisher The Microsoft Publisher program will load, and a blank page will appear on your screen. • MS Publisher is organized into tabbed menu bars that includes File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Tools, Table, Arrange, Windows and Help. From Insert tab, you can insert page, duplicate page, date and time, pictures, text box, text file etc. From Format tab, you can change different fonts, colors, styles, color schemes, background etc. Lab Tasks 1. Create a one page website using a blank document. 2. Add your group members name in a text box and change its font, size, color etc. 3. Change its background. 4. Save your website (Web Page Filtered format). To create a website, select File tab, choose new Then the following page will open, you can see many options here i-e advertisements, flyers, banners, business cards, post cards, greeting cards, news letters etc Select websites option from the given menu. • A window will open that will show many templates of different websites. Select blank sizes from the bottom of the page. • The following page will open: Now start creating your website, Insert a text box from Insert Tab Change the background from Format tab Saving your Website: • To save your document, simply click on the File option in the top left‐ hand corner and you see a drop down menu giving you various options. Choose save as then save as type web page filtered
