Lab 9 : MS PowerPoint
MS-Power Point
• Microsoft Power point or MS-Power Point is an
electronic Presentation program that helps people
to present a speech using collection of slides.
•  It's easy to use
• Allow users to create and save oral presentations
• Starting with MS-Power Point:
To open MS-Power Point, Click Start button, start menu
will appear
Select All programs and click Microsoft Office- Power
Point
The Microsoft Power Point program will load, and
a blank document will appear on your screen.
Getting Help in MS Power Point 2007:
At the top right‐hand corner of the screen and click on the
question mark icon or Press F1
• MS Power Point is organized into tabbed menu bars and
by default, it starts you off in the Home tab when you first
open the program. From here you can add/delete a new
slide, add shapes, change font( text size, color, bullets,
alignment).
Creating New Slides:
To create your PowerPoint slides click Home and select
New Slide.

Deleting Slides:
Right click the blank slide and Click Delete Slide
From Insert tab, you can insert tables, pictures, clip
art, smart art, chart, text box, symbols, slide
number, word art, date and time
From Design tab, you can add different themes to
your document, change background styles, fonts,
colors, effects, page setup, slide orientation.
From Animations tab, you can add animations to
your slides, text, pictures etc
From slideshow tab, you can view slideshow of
your presentation or press F5
Saving your Document:
• To save your document, simply click on the MS logo in the
top left‐hand corner and you see a drop down menu giving
you various options including saving (or press Ctrl+S).
Printing your document:
Select MS logo, a menu of choices will appear, select print,
a standard Print Menu screen will appear, select pages
and click ok or press (Ctrl+P)
Lab Tasks
1. Create a Power Point file and write names of your group
members using different font styles( different colors, size,
style, bullets) and add different animations to it.
2. Add any animation to your slide.
3. Insert any theme of your choice in your file.
4. Insert a smart art in your file and type the following text in
it:
• Initiate
• Plan
• Organize
• Close
Task1: Select text (group member’s name) and change its
font
• Insert animation in the text by selecting animation tab, select text
and animation. You can also choose it from custom animation.
• Task 2: From Animations, select transition to this slide
Task 3: From design tab, choose theme of your
choice.
Task 4: From Insert tab select Smart Art, choose
process, then choose any shape and entre text
