William Black biography
 WilliamBlake was born on November 28, 1757, in the
Soho district of London, England
 He was an English poet ,painter and printmaker.
 His
mother name was Catherine black and father name
was james black
 He left the school at the age of 10 year
 He educated at home by his mother.
 He took admission at par’s drawing school and studied
for four years
 At the age of 21 ,he became professional engraver
 He married Catharine Boucher in 1782
ABOUT POEM

 The Tyger" was one of the poems contained in William Blake's


Songs of Innocence and Experience, published in 1794.
 William Blake's "The Tyger" was written during The Romantic Era,
thus it is known as a romantic poem.
 In "The Tyger,"Blake uses the tone of the fear of death. If they
come near the Tyger, they are dead.
The TYGER
1 stanza
 Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
 In the forests of the night;
 What immortal hand or eye,
 Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
2 stanza

 In what distant deeps or skies.


 Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
 On what wings dare he aspire?
 What the hand, dare seize the fire?
3 stanza

 And what shoulder, & what art,


 Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
 And when thy heart began to beat,
 What dread hand? & what dread feet?
4 stanza

 What the hammer? what the chain,


 In what furnace was thy brain?
 What the anvil? what dread grasp,
 Dare its deadly terrors clasp!
5 stanza

 When the stars threw down their spears


 And water'd heaven with their tears:
 Did he smile his work to see?
 Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
6 stanza

 Tyger Tyger burning bright,


 In the forests of the night:
 What immortal hand or eye,
 Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
