EFFECTIVENESS OF

LEARNING
MODALITIES:
ONLINE and MODULAR used in
LEARNING DELIVERY DURING COVID-19
at WVSU-HCC and CHMSC BINALBAGAN
“The fear of contracting the virus in a pandemic such as
COVID-19 is a major change in our daily lives, as our
movements are restricted in support of efforts to contain and
slow down the spread of the virus.”
Background

The colleges and universities all over the country are obliged to
undertake alternative modalities learning delivery, assessments and
remediation to consider student academic progress.
What is ?
Guidelines were adapted or modified by the colleges and
universities, with consideration to their different contextual conditions
on the ground.

Within the context of the higher educational institutions under this

study, the students’ current learning instructional situation is fraught
with various difficulties in blended learning instruction including the
assessment process.
The Gap
It was reported that students both online and modular learning
modalities encounter challenges such as internet connectivity, issues
inadequate learning resources, and electric power interruptions as
major hurdles to learning.
A need to strengthen policy in terms of the delivery of instruction - to
provide opportunities for both modular and online learning platforms.

Schools at all levels, therefore, need to address these concerns and

carefully evaluate plans and procedures on the implementation of the
new normal. Collaboration is the most important at these difficult
times. We should help form the post COVID-19 education, stepping to
the new normal.
