COMUNITY NURSE DEFINITION

Comunity nursing is nursing care delivered


outside acute hospitals, for exsample in the
home, within general practice facilities, in
comunity hospital, in police custody, at a sholool
or in a care home.
what does a community care nurse do ?

Community health nurses work to improve the


health and well-being of communities they
serve by educating them about illness and
disease prevention, safe health practices,
nutrition, and wellness. They often provide
treatment for poor, culturally diverse, and
uninsured populations.
Benefits of community
nursing

Nurses within the community help


to keep hospital admissions down,
freeing up beds for critical cases
and preventing long admission
times. It also allows patients to
feel comfortable in their own
living space and helps to build
trust and a closer relationship
between the nurse and patient

Community nurse function
1. independen
Is an independent function & does not depend on others, where nurses
in carrying out their duties are carried out independently with their
own decisions in taking actions to fulfill KDM.
2. dependen
It is the function of nurses in carrying out their activities on messages
or instructions from other nurses as an act of delegating the tasks
given. Usually carried out by specialist nurses to general nurses, or
from primary nurses to implementing nurses.
3. interdependen
This function is carried out in groups of teams that are interdependent between one
team and another. This function can occur if the form of service requires teamwork in
providing services. This situation cannot be overcome by a team of nurses alone but
also from doctors or others
