Introduction to Course
 Introduction: What is data mining? What makes it a new and unique
discipline?
 Relationship between data Warehousing, Online Analytical Processing , and
data mining.
 Data ware housing , Data Mining Process: Data Preparation/cleansing, task
Identification.
 Association rules mining, association rules – different algorithm types.
 Classification/Prediction. Classification - tree-based approaches, Neural
Networks, Bayesian etc.
 Clustering basics, Statistical approaches, Neural-net and other approaches.
 Cross-Industry Standard Process for data mining(CRISP-
DM), Practical use of SPSS(Clementine)/WEKA.
