passed by law makers, aimed at protecting
consumers. They include:
i. Rent Edict
ii. Sale of Goods Act 1893
iii. NAFDAC Act 1993
iv. Weights and Measures Act 1974
v. Hire Purchase Act 1965
vi. Consumer Protection Council Act
• Independent Organisations: these are
organisations set up by private entities. They
are:
i. The Mass Media
ii. Trade Associations
iii. Consumer Associations
iv. Research Institutions
v. Law Enforcement: examples are – the Nigeria
Police, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC),
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
(EFCC), Consumer Protection Council (CPC),
National University Commission (NUC).
