Modal verbs

• They are a group of verbs we use to express situations such as ability,


possibility , permission, suggestion , obligation , request and others.
They need another verb to complete and an idea. Today we are going
to focus in only one of them the modal verb:
Affirmative Sentences
• Subject + can + basic verb + complement.

You can say:
Negative sentences Can not
Cannot
Can’t

• Subject + can’t + basic verb + complement.
