    The bulb was not lighting up because the filament was burnt out. To fix it, a new bulb needs to be fastened properly onto the bulb holder. The dry cell was also out of energy, so replacing it with a new dry cell in the dry cell holder would help. Additionally, the electrical connections were not correct, so connecting the wires properly and closing the switch would allow the bulb to light up again.
