USE OF 们 (men)

1. 们 (men) is use after the noun or pronoun to make it
plural .
Structure : noun / pronoun + 们
 们 (men) use after the noun & pronoun .
 Pronoun : 你 = 你们 Nǐ = nǐmen you = yours
我 = 我们 wǒ = wǒmen I = Us
他 = 他们 tā = tāmen He =
They
Noun :
同学 = 同学们 tóngxué = tóngxuémen Student =
Students
2 . Things to keep in mind -
 It’s Used For Alive Things Like Human , small Animal ， tree etc .
车们 Chēmen Car it is wrong
小猫们 xiǎo māomen kittens
 Never use 们 (men))with Interrogative like 谁 shéi with 们
((men)
今天 谁们来参加我的生日排队呢 ？ wrong
Jīntiān shéimen lái cānjiā wǒ de shēngrì páiduì ne?

今天 谁来参加我的生日排队呢 ？ it’s right

Jīntiān shéi lái cānjiā wǒ de shēngrì páiduì ne?
Who will join my birthday party today?
 When we describe noun or pronoun with numbers then can’t be
use 们 (men) with noun or pronoun .

五个老师 Wǔ gè lǎoshī Five teachers

right

五个老师们 wǔ gè lǎoshīmen wrong

 们 (men) can be used with tree & animals
小猫们摇着尾巴跑了 。
Xiǎo māomen yáozhe wěibā pǎole.
The kittens ran off wagging its tail .
 In some sentence ,you don’t need to use 们 (men) to indicate
plural.

我有很多朋友 .
Wǒ yǒu hěnduō péngyǒu.
I have many friends .No need to use 们 (men)

最近生病，但是朋友 ( 们 ) 都很关心我 。
Zuìjìn shēngbìng, dànshì péngyǒu (men) dōu hěn guānxīn wǒ
I am sick recently, but my all friends(s) are very concerning about
me
you can still use 朋友们 here to emphasize “many friends”.
3. Usage Example with 们 (men):
1. 过去，孩子们很尊重我。
Guòqù, háizimen hěn zūnzhòng wǒ.
My children looked up to me in the past.

2. 学生们正在参加考试。
Xuésheng men zhèngzài cānjiā kǎoshì.
The students were sitting for the examination.

3. 女士们，先生们…
Nǚshìmen, xiānshēngmen …
ladies and gentlemen...

4. 客人们从远方来。
Kèrénmen cóng yuǎnfāng lái.
The guests have come from afar.
