Solar collectors are used for collecting solar radiation and then transferring the
collected energy to a fluid passing through it.
A transport fluid, generally water, is used to collect this transferred heat from
collector and delivers it to a thermal storage tank, boiler or heat exchanger
Solar energy reaching earth’s surface has an intensity about 5-8 Kwh/m 2. So, for any
useful application sufficient solar energy should be collected from a large ground area
with help of many solar collectors.
