CREED
The Apostle’s Creed is a list of
what Catholics believe. The word
“Creed” means “I believe”. The
Apostles’ Creed is the first of the
Catholic Rosary prayers because it
lists the important truths taught
by Jesus.
It summarizes who God is and how he deals with us,
His children.

This prayer deals with the Blessed Trinity. This belief

in three persons in one God,

the Father
the Son and
the Holy Spirit

The first part deals with God the Father. It tells about
His role in creating “heaven and earth”.
Introduction
What are the four pillars of Christianity?

Christianity is based on four Pillars,

namely:
CREED – representing our Faith:
what must we believe?
SACRAMENTS – representing our
Public Worship: we must we
celebrate as a community?
COMMANDMENTS - representing
our Morals: what must we do?
OUR FATHER – representing our
Personal Prayer: how should we
pray?
The Apostle’s Creed, also
known as the Symbol of
Faith, is the summary of
the fundamental truths
of Christianity. It is
composed of 12 articles,
corresponding to the
number of the Apostles.
The word Creed comes
from the Latin verb
Credere, which means
“to believe.”
The Apostles composed the 12
articles of the Creed under the
inspiration of the Holy Spirit
Lesson 1

“I believe in
God, the
Father Almighty,
 Creator of
heaven and
earth.”
What is Apostles’ Creed, also
known as the symbol of Faith, is
the summary of the fundamental
truths of Christianity. The word
CREED comes from the Latin verb
credere, which means “to
believe.”
THE VIRTUE OF FAITH
What is Faith?

Faith is the theological virtue by which

we believe in the existence of God
and in his revelation.
comes from the Latin word fides, which
means “the act of believing.”
What are the three Theological Virtues?

Faith,

Love, Hope,
Existence and Attributes of God

The attributes of God, the

supreme Being, include
Eternal, Almighty, All-Knowing,
and All-Present.

Eternal All-Knowing

Almighty
All-Present.
Lesson 2:

One Triune God

Christian are baptized “in
the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit.” before receiving the
sacrament, they respond to
a three-part question when
asked to confess the Father,
the Son and Spirit: “I do.” “
The faith of all Christians
rests on Trinity.”
Christian are baptized “in
the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit.”
Not in their names, for
there is only one God,
the Almighty Father, his
only Son and the Holy
Spirit: the Most Holy
Trinity.
Many religions invoke
God as “Father.” The
deity (one exalted or
revered as supremely
good or powerful) is
often considered the
“father of gods and of
men.”
By calling God “Father,” the language
of faith indicates two main things:
that God is the origin of everything
and uplifting ability; and that he is at
the same time goodness and loving
care for all his children.

The language of faith draws on the

human experience of parents, who
are in a way the first representative
of God to man.
The Holy Spirit is revealed to
the Apostles and to the
church both by the Father in
the name of the Son, and by
the Son in person, of the
person of the Spirit after
Jesus’ glorification reveals in
its fullness the mystery of
the Holy Trinity.
The Biblical Proofs of the Trinity
“Go, therefore, and make
disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and
of the Son, and the Holy
Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).
