What is a day?
Day time is when you can see
the sun from where you are and
its light and heat can reach you.
 What is a night?
Night time is when the sun is
on the other side of the Earth
from you, and its light and
heat don’t get to you.

 How day and night happen?
The Earth is always spinning around –
sometimes from where you stand on the
Earth you can see the Sun (this is the
daytime) and sometimes the part of the
Earth where you are is facing away from the
Sun so it is dark (this is the nighttime). 
 Rotation
Rotation is the movement of an object
in a circular motion. "Rotation" refers
to an object's spinning motion about
its own axis.
 Revolution
When the earth revolves around the sun.
