FOR

World Conference on Disaster Reduction was held from 18 to 22
January 2005, in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan, and adopted the present Framework
for Action 2005-2015 for Building the Resilience of Nations and
Communities to Disasters
 It is a Global blueprint for disaster risk reduction efforts between 2005-2015.
 Its goal was to substantially reduce disaster losses by 2015- in lives, and in
the social, economic ,and environmental assets of communities and
countries.
 It was developed and agreed on with many partners needed to reduce disaster
risk- governments,international agencies, disaster experts and many other.
 The HFA is a 10-year plan to make the world safer from natural hazards.
 It was endorsed by the UN General Assembly in the Resolution following the
2005 World Disaster Reduction Conference.
