What impacts the
climate change has
across the globe!
1.
What is the
Climate Change?
Climate Change
Climate change is when the earth’s climate system can result in new weather
patterns, which can last ranging from several decades to even millions of
years.

Climate change can be an alarming rate, for many vulnerable people and
animals. Population in polar bears, penguins, seals for example, are falling due
to their landscape melting in the rising temperature. It’s not just the arctic,
tropical places are also having reports of declining animal population, also
linked with the same problem.

It is also caused by carbon emissions, which can help support the change of the
weather and climate in your area.

Temperatures are breaking record all
around the world!
The 21 century has broken thousands of weather records all over the world.
st

Australia – The summers are bringing in more extreme heatwaves and droughts.

California, USA – This state is very well known for bushfires, which damages
homes and kills dozens every year. The figures could very easily ries if action is not
taken soon!

Europe – Parts of the continent are already facing much hotter summers, compared
to 10 or 20 years ago. By 2050, the prolonged heatwaves like 2003 could
potentially become the new norm. Many lives would be at risk!
Sea levels are rising to their highest
speed in 2,000 years!
The rising sea levels are caused by
melted glaciers and ice sheets. The
average rate of change is 3.4mm
every year.

It is feared that some islands and

small countries could either be
permanently flooded or even
washed away by the end of this
century.
The ocean is 26 percent more acidic than
before the Industrial Revolution!
Basically speaking, the pH of the ocean
surface water has decreased by 0.1, which
makes them 26% more acidic now, than it
was way back to the industrial revolution
time.

The waters are also more acidic than it

was, over 300,000 years ago; risking the
lives of many water creatures.
More greenhouse gases are in our atmosphere than
any time in human history!
The concertation of carbon dioxide around the atmosphere reached the milestone of
400 parts per million for the first time in 2015, then surged to higher record levels
in 2016 and so on …

This is according to the World Meteorological Organization’s annual Greenhouse

gas bulletin.
