INTRODUCTION

Fixed-bed Catalytic Reactors

A reactor in which the catalyst particles are fixed to the reactor bed while the fluid phases

flow in various directions through it (Froment et al., 1990).

Catalyst Deactivation

Loss of catalytic activity and/or selectivity as a result of the interactions between the catalyst and the

impurities contained in the process.
