Problem of Parking
Chandni Chowk is one of Asia’s largest and busiest wholesale  but with the Chandani Chowk
Redevelopment Project it comes with a solution of parking and minimizing the problem of
traffic.

Solution:
•  the pedestrian-only Chandni Chowk will have a multilevel parking facility. As the proposal to pedestrianise the 1.3km
road from Red Fort to Fatehpuri Masjid between 9am and 9pm has already been notified, the company that is working
on the multilevel parking-cum-commercial project is gearing up to make the facility available to lakhs of visitors
coming to this heritage shopping, food and tourism destination by next year.
• advanced technologies, such as a composite steel-frame structure to expedite
construction and to grant strength to the structure, were being used for its
construction.
• The multilevel parking facility will accommodate over 2,100 cars and 81 tourist buses in five floors, including
three underground ones. Three floors will be dedicated for retail spaces and a food court.
• The project also proposes a direct entry from Chandni Chowk metro station and is located in the heart of Chandni Chowk from where the most-visited markets, religious
& tourism destinations and Old Delhi Railway Station are at 5-10 min walk.
2. Problem of Overhead Wires
• electric supply for domestic consumption was first introduced in
Delhi in 1903 which now led a heavy mess of Overhead wires
which are not least than a death trap.
Solution:
• Chandani Chowk Redevelopment Project now clear all the hurdles
created by the overhead wires and making it underground provides
an open space and a lot more safer place for the residents and
visitors.
• meshes of intertwined wires have been removed, with ones hanging
overhead being moved underground
• The wires included telephone, internet and high-tension cables.
• around half of the project cost was set aside to take the wires underground.
