What is a Reaction
Paper
Reaction Paper is a popular academic text that
requires thoughtful reading and research. It is not
simply giving summary of various texts or materials
or expressing feelings toward them but
synthesizing, analyzing and evaluating or gauging
the strenghts and weaknessess of these texts or
materials.
Objectives of Reaction Paper
To serve as a response paper
To give opportunities for students to answer
different questions on their feelings, agreement or
disagreement, and even their evaluation of the topic
even to share their feelings on the topic
To highlight the significance of the work to the
problem or issues of the present
To recommend the work to others or not at all
STEPS TO FOLLOW
IN WRITING A
REACTION PAPER
Step 1: Read the text and outline the issues or
highlights..
In outlining, it is helpful to code them:

Step 2. Begin writing your comments based on each
point/highlights. Create an angle of your claim or thoughts.

Reaction: Flavanoids must posses an anti-cholesterol to

used as medication for those who experience hypertension,
obesity or diabetes.
Step 3. Determine your thesis and opening paragraph as
INTRODUCTION. Now that you have completed your freewriting with
the help of outlining, you can now shape this into an argument. What
interesting thing do you have to say about what you just read?

wrap up your idea.
