normal man to anyone living outside of his small home in Pennsylvania, but his wife sees a completely different man. Forbidden to leave the house, Jessica spends her days doing near to nothing. George keeps her locked away from friends and family and won’t even allow her to take a phone call from her worried brother. A more in depth look into the movie George Bates doesn’t let Jessica go anywhere. No one has seen Jessica for 6 months. Leonard, Jessica’s brother, starts to get a bit worried after he tried to call her to see if she was going to come to their mother's birthday party and George answers to tell him that they both wouldn’t be there. Leonard hasn’t even heard her voice for 6 months. After the call ends, he makes another phone call to his best mate, Max. Max is a detective and after a bit of convincing he sends one of his employees, James over. James scopes the place out and when George leaves the house he knocks on the door. No answer so he tries to look through the windows, but they are all covered up. Just as he is about to give up hope George returns to the house. He catches James but instead of telling him to go away he invites him into his house. After a little hello James asks if he could meet George’s wife. He hesitantly says yes and goes upstairs to get her. While he is upstairs James makes a phone call to Max. He tells him that there is nothing to worry about and that George seems like a regular bloke. Just before he hangs up the phone however, James gets attacked by George and killed. Max hears this from the other end of the phone and is shocked. The next day, Max goes down to the house, waits for George to leave and kicks into action. He leaps over the back gate and investigates the house from the outside. After finding no way to get in he looks around and notices the old beaten down shed. He slowly walks over to it and breaks the padlock on the door. He enters and notices an awful stench. He notices a large bulge at the back of the shed underneath a blanket. He removes it and sees James dead body. He steps back in shock and as he does so, he knocks over a wooden board. Behind that board is Jessica's rotting corpse. She had been dead for 6 months and what we saw of her was just a figment of George’s imagination. He actually killed her 6 months ago after getting into an argument because Jessica was flirting with another guy at a party they hosted. My cast:
George Bates: Leonardo DiCaprio
George is a complete psycho. He is
overprotective and hates when his wife even talks to another man.
DiCaprio has won a countless
amount of awards and is a brilliant actor who can change character in a heartbeat. His work in shutter island is what made me want him. Jessica Bates: Anne Hathaway
Jessica is a kind quite girl. Very rarely
gets into any kind of trouble. She is also a strong and independent woman who doesn’t need a man to tell her what to do.
Anne Hathaway has won 2 Oscars
and her innocent appearance will fit the character really well. She will be compelling for the audience. Leonard Cooper: Tobey Maguire
Leonard is very protective of his
sister. He is caring and loving. At the end of the film, we see his angry side come out when he finds out about his sister.
Tobey Maguire’s film, Brothers,
shows his temper and his range in acting very well. Max Skip: Adam Driver
Max is a textbook example of an
American detective. Action heavy and not bad with a gun when he needs to use it. He does his job and is very good at it.
Adam Driver also plays a detective in
Blackkklansman. He plays this character the exact way I see Max in my film. Other members of the team: Steven Spielberg: Multi award winning director. Mainly known for his suspenseful films. He knows how to keep the audience on the edge of their seat.
John Williams: One of the best composers in movie
history. He has worked with Spielberg on several movies including Jaws which has a famous suspenseful theme.
