Nationwide vaccination with AstraZeneca, Sinopharm,


Sptunik V (1st and 2nd dose), Pfizer and Janssen .
COVID-19 IMPACT IN Angola.
 The worsening of the recession that the Angolan
economy has been going through since the end of 2015
with consecutive years of negative economic growth.

 Another consequence of the economic recession is the


critical situation of unemployment and poverty;

 A survey conducted by the BNA in 625 small and


medium enterprises in the formal market showed that
by August/20, 15.4% of companies had temporarily
suspended activities and that 0.6% had permanently
closed down.
COVID-19 Impact in Angola
 The latest projections from the World Bank suggest that
the poverty rate would increase from 53.6% in 2019 to
56.4% in 2020, with the absolute number of 18.5 million
Angolans living below the poverty line.
 Worsening of hunger and food insecurity crisis in the
southern Provinces of the country affected by drought
and the increase in global food prices in times of
pandemic.
COVID-19 Impact in Angola
• With the suspension of school activity due to the
pandemic, the percentage of young people without
occupation increased significantly to 32.5% (from 23.5%
before).

 COVID-19 led to an intense mobilisation of resources,


weakening other programmes such as Malaria,
Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, etc.

1) To Draft a Disaster Reduction Plan.


• It establishes an emergency response strategy,
Forces strenghth, and Means to be employed.
• (As an example, the rapid implementation of
the State of Emergency measures was crucial in
preventing the situation from going from bad to
dramatic).

2) Early drafting of the Regulatory Instruments.


It establishes the Methodologies, Processes and
Standards for action.

3) Information, Education and Communication is a


high-resource weapon for the individual
awareness and collective engagement of the
population.

4. To Continuously evaluate the Response Plan, in


order to identify earlier errors and make
corrections.
5. The need to establish stress management
mechanisms such as for health practitioners,
supporting forces and the population in general.

6. The need to keep the assistance to other patients


within External Consultations beyond COVID 19.
