Banana (Musa Sapientum)

Peelings and Jackfruit

(Artocarpusheterophyllus)
Seeds as Active Components
of Alternative Biodegradable
Plastic
Alisin, Saludo, Maghanoy, Bayno, and Roxas
Introduction
 Plastic is a necessity but has a
negative environmental impact.
 Starches coming from the Green
Banana Peelings and Jackfruit Seeds
have the potential of the active
components of a biodegradable plastic.
 Denatured Alcohol is used for the
compatibility of the variables.
Significance of the Study

This study aims to

make a biodegradable
plastic out of
renewable raw
materials.
Research Design
This is an experimental randomized complete
block.

Conclusion

After the experiment, it was

found out that the SPGBP
dominated too, it made the
mixture more viscose rather than
the suitable state of the mixture
to be a biodegradable plastic.
Thank you!
 The problem of this study is the
environmental impact of plastic (Getachew
& Woldesenbet, 2016).
 The Green Banana Peelings has the cost of
a petroleum-based or synthetic plastic
(Adao & Glória, 2005).
 The Jackfruit Seeds contains 90% amount
of starch.
 Denatured alcohol contains Ethanol that
also has Polyethylene Terephthalate
(Helmenstine, 2018).
