Adding HTML Links

Have you heard of hyperlinks?


This is called ‘embedding’
Hyperlinks are links from one web
location to another
Also called HTML links
HTML links allow you to create
navigation patterns
HTML links are defined by <a> tag
href attribute defines the
destination of the link
How to spot a hyperlink?
They show up with blue text or
underline, or depends on theme
How to add hyperlink?
Highlight text, click on link in toolbar
If the URL that you enter in the inline link
toolbar has the incorrect syntax, WordPress will
let you know by highlighting the link with a red
dotted outline.
You can click on settings icon to
see more options
URL is page or website that you would like to
create a link to
Link Text – The text that you highlighted prior
to clicking the Insert/edit link button will be
automatically displayed
Open link in a new tab – When someone
clicks the link you can have it open in the same
window (default setting) or have it open in a
new browser window/tab
Can I add link to an image?
Can I add link to an image or a file
type?
If I add a URL will it automatically
be hyperlinked?
Any helpful plugins?
