Interactive Hygiene Activity:
Divide the class into multiple groups and each group should contain
two students. Gove them 5 minutes to note the advantages of brushing
teeth daily and dis advantages of not brushing them. One student in
each group should note advantages and the other should note dis
advantages. Then randomly pick 2 or 3 groups and ask them to
present their points one by one in front of whole class.
Bruises
Do’s:
• Clean the wound properly
• Do not bandage uncleaned wound
• Dis infect wound properly
• Use clean cloth/bandage
• Rinse the wound under normal water
• Use open wove bandage to cover it
• Keep the wound away from germs
• Get tetanus shot on the prescription of doctor
Dont’s:
• Do not use dirty cloth
• Do not bandage un cleaned wound
Cuts
Do’s:
• Rinse the cut under running tap water
• Use sniplast in case of mnor cuts
• Raise the cut above heart level to stop bleeding
• Apply pressure
• Apply pressure on pressure points
• Seek medical assistance if bleeding still continues
Dont’s:
• Do not use dirty cloth to apply pressure
• Do not apply bandage on un cleaned cuts
Burns
Do’s:
• In case of first degree burn, rinse it under running tap water
• Apply polyfax and cover it with the help of open wove bandage
• Immediately seek medical assistance in case of severe burns
Dont’s:
• DO NOT APPLY TOOTHPASTE
Sprains
Do’s:
• Use mnemonic RICE
• Rest
• Ice
• Elevate above heart level
• Compression
• Apply wintogeno
• Bandage it using crepe bandage
Dont’s:
• Do not walk on the sprained knee/ankle
• Do not do any strenuous task using sprained wrist
