DEFINITION

 Amlodipine is a drug in blood is high or hypertensive. The pressure of the

blood that is controlled can prevent the disease strokes, attacks the heart,
and diseases of the kidneys.
 Amlodipine works by way relaxes the walls of the vessels of the blood. The
effect will accelerate the flow of blood towards the heart and reduce the
pressure of the blood. In addition to cope with hypertension, amlodipine is
also used to relieve the symptoms of pain chest or angina pectoris in
diseases of the heart coronary.
 Amlodipine, or precisely amlodipine besylate, can be consumed as a drug
of single or combined with drugs other in overcoming hypertension. The
drug is available in 2 types of preparations, i.e. amlodipine 5 mg and 10
mg.

INDICATIONS USE OF AMLODIPINE IS
 For therapy of hypertension and prophylaxis of angina
with a dose of the initial 5 mg once a day and can be
increased to 10 mg per day.
CONTRAINDICATIONS

In principle, contraindications absolute amlodipine together with

contraindications to the drug class dihidropiridin (DHP) in general,
namely:
 Aortic Stenosis weight

 Cardiomyopathy hypertrophic-obstructive
 Failure of the heart or the dysfunction of the ventricles of the left
 Angina is not stable or threat infarction myocardial
 Hypotension
