Amazon VA Lecture# 2

BY SAAD IJAZ
What is Amazon?

Amazon (Amazon.com) is the world’s largest

online retailer and a prominent cloud services
provider.

In the beginning, Amazon.com sold books.

Today Amazon is a titan of e-commerce, logistics,

payments, hardware, data storage, and media.
Why we Choose Amazon vs other
marketplaces

 Huge Customer market Amazon has a member list numbering in the

tens of millions.
 FBA, or Fulfillment by Amazon, is the option to leverage Amazon’s
impressive fulfillment centers and customer service for your own
products.
 Reputation Amazon’s reputation is rock-solid, and it’s improving
pretty much by the week. Consumers who sell on Amazon know that
their purchase will arrive on time and with little to no hassle, and even
if it doesn’t, they know they’ll get reimbursed for it.
Amazon Business Models

 Amazon FBM VS FBA

 Amazon Drop Shipping

Selling as FBA or Drop shipping as FBM

 Selling on Amazon as FBA means you purchase items

directly from the manufacturer / Supplier / Retailer and
then sell them as a reseller on Amazon, to consumers
 Selling on amazon as FBM you actually piggy back
(Me Too) the listing and when you get the order you
can go to your supplier / Wholesaler and ship directly
to your Customer.
Pros:

 You need very little money or low budget to start.

 You know how well the items are selling before you buy
them via drop shipping.
 You learn the ropes of Amazon FBM and Amazon FBA.
 You can scan various Retail stores and can find profitable
deals.
Cons:

 You won't be able to get things on discount every time and you
can't resell the same product, so you always need to DIG for new
items.
 You are reliant on Amazon’s good will. If you make a mistake by
selling a product, you’re not allowed to you could risk losing the
account and business.
 Delivery Times
 Bad Suppliers
