INTRODUCTION
Governance are interchangeably used denoting the exercise authority in organist ion
institution or state. Government is the name given to the exercising that authority.
Governance is the systems and processes concerned with ensuring the overall direction,
effectiveness, supervision and accountability of an organization.
In this regard the general definition by this British council ,emphasizes that “Governance
“ is a broader notion than government and for that matter also relation concepts like the
state ,good government and regime and goes on to state.
Governance involves interaction between the formal institution and levity society.
Governance refers to a process whereby element in a society wield power authority and
influence and enact policies and decision making.

Governance therefore not only encompasses put transcends the collective meaning
concept like the state ,government regime and “Good governance ”
CONCEPT OF GOVERNANCE

subjective term that describes how public institutions
conduct public affair and manage. Public resources in
the prefered way. Governace is the process of decissin
making and the proces by which decission are
implemented.
Definitions of Governance
 Establishment of policies and continous monitoring of their proper
implementations by the member of governing.
 The traditions and institutions by which authority in a country is
exercised.
 The exercise of economic ,political,and administrations authority to
manage a countrys resources for development.
 Promoting fairness,transparencyand accountability.---- World bank.
 A system by which business organisation are directed and controlled.
