REFLECTION

The learning log that I prepared for my students are from the topic, “Animal”, from Year 3 Science.
The time taken to prepared the learning log was just 30 minutes. But, from this, I realized that my students
were able to understand the topic even better. This learning log helped my students to express their
understanding in a more creative ways. Moreover, I felt the students had so much fun when they filled the
learning log. They had different experience when they write what they feel honestly.
Other than that, this learning log helped me to fill in my PBD for students easily with evidence. I feel
it is one of the easy methods to observe students’ progress in a particular Science lesson. I could reflect
how effective was my teaching method in this particular topic. Knowing my students understanding in their
own words, made me to get know the real scenario of the effectiveness of my teaching, which eventually
made me to improve my teaching skills.
Besides that, I feel that I have encouraged my students to learn independently and be creative in their
own way. I believe this learning log helped my students to take part actively in learning and be proud of
their work. It also helped them to visualise the particular topic.
To improve this method, I feel I should have added more prompts to stimulate students’ understating
and creativity. I am sure that I will intergrade more learning logs in my future Science lessons.
