Quantitative data is data that can be quantified into
conclusive facts through numerical analysis.

Qualitative Data
Qualitative data is non-numerical data that describes
qualities, opinions, or feelings.

Primary Information
Primary information is derived directly from the original source, i.e. original
documents and raw data. It can be written, visual, electronic, or oral. Original
novels and poems are examples of this.

o Proprietary rights o Difficult to access
Secondary Information
A secondary information selects, modifies and arranges the primary information in a proper
format. In the secondary information, the primary information is generalized, analyzed,
interpreted or evaluated. For example, if the primary information is a novel, the secondary
information will be an article analyzing or reviewing that novel.
