• TOOL USED
 Vices : The vice is the most common tool for holding work. The various
type of vice are bench vice, leg vice, pipe vice, pin vice and toolmaker’s
vice.
 Files : A file is a hardened piece of high grade steel with slanting row of
teeth. It is used to cut, smooth, or fit metal parts.
 Chisels :Chisels are made from high carbon steel or chrome –
vanadium steel. It consists following parts Head, Body, point or
cutting edge.
 Hacksaw :Parts of hacksaw Metal frame, Blade, Handle, Wing nut
screw.
 Punch :A punch is used in a bench work for marking work locating center etc.
 Varnier caliper: It is primarily used for measuring both inside and
outside diameters of shafts, thickness, of parts, etc.
 Trysquare:The square refers to the tool’s primary use
of measuring the accuracy of a right angle (90
degrees); to try a surface is to check its straightness or
correspondence to an adjoining surface.
 Scriber:A scriber is a hand tool used in metalworking to mark
lines on workpieces, prior to machining.
 Drills: Drills are used to make circular holes.These are made up of
high-speed steel, chromium steel and carbon tool steel.
