FRICTION FORCE

LAWS OF FRICTION
1) A 300 kg sled is pulled at constant speed over a level, horizontal, snow
covered surface. The rope that is used to pull the sled makes a 30° angle with
the horizontal. If the coefficient of friction is 0.10, find the force required.
KINEMATIC
EQUATIONS
A block of mass 1 kg rests in equilibrium on a rough horizontal plane under the
action of the force P which acts at an angle of measure 30° to the horizontal, as
shown in the figure. Given that the magnitude of P is 12 Newton and the block is
about to slide, calculate the coefficient of friction.
