of KFC Pakistan
• KFC Pakistan has a network of 103
restaurants nationally out of which 94
restaurants also do delivery.
• It has 2 warehouses in Karachi and Lahore
and a commissary in Karachi.
• The commissary prepares and marinates
chicken and vegetables for restaurants in
the south region i.e., Sindh and Balochistan
whereas the restaurants in Central and
north region do all this in house.
Warehouses and
Commissary
• KFC warehouses in both regions on average replenish their
inventory every month and includes items like packaging material,
sauces, beverage syrups, cooking oil, cleaning supplies etc.
• Deliveries to the individual restaurants is done using small trucks
owned by KFC every week. The forecasting for the amount of
supplies is done by every restaurant individually.
• The chicken and vegetables for the south region and delivered by
commissary through refrigerated trucks which is forecasted by
restaurants and delivered daily.
• For the central and north region, the chicken and vegetables
orders are placed by the restaurant and delivered directly by the
vendors.
Restaurant Delivery
• KFC has 3 platforms for accepting delivery orders i.e.
website/app, Foodpanda and call center.
• KFC claims to deliver every order within 30 minutes
but the delivery time can be extended to 45 or 60
minutes due to some uncertainty like high order
traffic, unexpected traffic jams, rider unavailability
etc.
• Tracking of riders and online order management is
done through their home delivery system(HDS)
which also records KPIs of individual restaurant and
report it to the regional heads.
