LONDON

London is the capital and largest city of England and the United


Kingdom. Standing on the River Thames in south-east England at the head of a
50-mile (80 km) down to the North Sea, it has been a major settlement for two
millennia.
LONDON
EYE

 This big wheel is the Millennium Wheel or London Eye. Its is


huge and highest big wheel in the world- one of gifts to
Londoners and city visitors. The wheel was opened in March
2000 to the mark the end of the 20th century. From height of 135
metres there is the most beautiful view of London.
BIG BEN
Opposite the Millennium Wheel , we
can see the famous clock tower. The
official name of the tower in which Big
Ben is located was originally the Clock
Tower. The tower is a British cultural icon
recognised all over the world. It is one of
the most prominent symbols of the United
Kingdom and parliamentary democracy,
and it is often used in the establishing
shot of films set in London.
WESTMINSTER PALACE
This is where the government
meets. The Palace of
Westminster serves as the meeting
place for both the House of
Commons and the House of Lords,
the two houses of the Parliament of
the United Kingdom. Informally
known as the Houses of
Parliament after its occupants, the
Palace lies on the north bank of
the River Thames in the City of
Westminster, in central London,
England.
REGENT`S
PARK
One of the best things
about London is its
parks. In Regent`s Park
you have the largest
grass area for sports in
Central London and an
Open Air theatre. You
can relax, walk and run
in the parks.
TRAFALGA
R SQUARE
This is Trafalgar Square
with the National Gallery
art museum in the
background. Trafalgar
Square is a public square
in the City of
Westminster, Central
London, established in the
early 19th century around
the area formerly known as
Charing Cross.
