ISLAM
 Islam is a religion and people who embrance it are
called muslim. It’s founded on five principles. The
principles are; to bear witness that there is no god
but Allah and that Muhammada is Allah’s apostle
(prophet), to establish prayer, to pay the zakat, to
fast in the month of Ramadhan, and to make
pilgrimage to the holy House of Allah. (Reported by
Buchori and Muslim)
 Muslim who can afford to perform Hajj but do not
prerform it commit a very serious sin.
 The second Calif Umar (may Allah be pleased with
him) once said:
 “I want to send men to cities to look for people
who can afford to go on pilgrimage but did not do
so (did not go), and to impose on them jizya. They
are not muslim, they are not muslim, they are not
muslims.

 can afford = kuat atau mampu melakukan sesuatu karena punya uang
dan secara fisik sehat serta kuat

 to commit = melakukan, mengerjakan
 to do so = ungkapan ini punya arti “mengerjakannya’
 to impose = menerapkan dengan paksa, misalnya pajak, peraturan dll.
