A TEACHER PROFESSION

TEACHING IS A LOT LIKE ACTING – IT`S A
HIGH-ENERGY, PERFORMANCE PROFESSION
THAT REQUIRES A PERSON TO ACT AS A
ROLE MODEL.
BUT WHEN TEACHERS GO
THROUGH TRAINING AND
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT,
THE PERFORMANCE ASPECT OF
THE JOB IS RARELY
EMPHASIZED OR TAUGHT.
ACKNOWLEDGING THIS
ASPECT COULD BE A MISSED
OPPORTUNITY TO
RESTRUCTURE WAYS
TEACHERS LEARN NEW SKILLS
AND TACTICS.
ACTORS SPEND HOURS PERFECTING THEIR
CRAFT BECAUSE THAT’S HOW THEY IMPROVE.
THEY TEACH THEMSELVES WHAT IS, ULTIMATELY,
THE ART OF ENTERTAINMENT. THEY LEARN HOW TO
CAPTURE AN AUDIENCE WITH THEMSELVES AND
MAKE THEM EMPATHIZE WITH THEIR
CHARACTERS.
• And the difference between a good teacher and a
great teacher is exactly the art of acting. Hand
movements that emphasize one's words, tone of
speech and it's emotivity, the expressions, the
phrases, the jokes, even, everything! This is what
captures attention, this is what makes you listen to
the one speaking, this is what awakens interest and
passion about learning and committing to a subject!
TEACHING IN CURIOUS WAYS
MOTIVATES STUDENTS TO
ACTUALLY LISTEN AND, MOST
IMPORTANTLY, HEAR EVERYTHING.
LEARNING IS OFTENTIMES
ASSOCIATED WITH DULLNESS,
BOREDOM, AND WORK THAT IS
EXTREMELY MONOTONOUS.
