We have seen that there are many different views as to what constitutes
a task. A language learning task can be ragarded as a springboard for
learning work. For Phrabu, a task is “ an activity which requires
learners to arrive at an outcome from given information throughsome
processof thought, and which allows teachers to control and regulate
that process.
Willis proposes 6 task types built on more or less traditional knowledge
hierarchies. She labels her task examples as follows:
