INCUBATING / HATCHING PROCEDURE PROCESS

Proper collecting and storage of fertile eggs

Store less than 7 to 10 days
Proper temperature (55 to 65°F)
Relative humidity at about 75 to 80 %
Proper handling
INCUBATING / HATCHING PROCEDURE PROCESS

Insufficient Humidity
Large air cell at the time of hatch
Viscosity of egg affect the chick to turn
Too tough membrane to break
The navel not close properly
INCUBATING / HATCHING PROCEDURE PROCESS

Excessive Humidity
Small amount of water evaporate from the egg

Smaller air cell during hatching process

Drowning chick with excessive water in egg

Larger yolk sac for the navel to close

INCUBATING / HATCHING PROCEDURE PROCESS

Candling
Light shining through the egg to observe the developing embryo

Easily confirm embryo after 8 to 12 days

INCUBATING / HATCHING PROCEDURE PROCESS

Hatching Stage
Refers to final 2 to 3 days of incubation when chick
hatch from the egg

Do not turn egg during hatching period

Put the egg to the hatching basket
Decrease the temperature 1°F
Increase relative humidity to 65 to 70 percent
