INTRODUCTION

■ Stunting is the impaired growth and development that children experience from poor
nutrition, repeated infection, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation.
■ Children are defined as stunted if their height-for-age is more than two standard
deviations below the WHO Child Growth Standards median.
