‫دو ق ومین ظریہ‬

Ideology
The social or political Programme of any movement that becomes a
collective objective of any nation is called Ideology. OR
Ideology means such an aim according to which human beings planned
about their future.
‫نظریہ‬
‫معاشرتی یا معاشـی تحریکـ کے ایسے الئحہ‬،‫نظریہ عام طور پر کسی بھی سیاسی‬
‫عملـ کو کہتے ہیں جو حاالت وواقعات کی روشـنی میں کسـی بھی قوم کا مشترکہ‬
‫نصب العین بن جائے ۔ نظریے کے لئے عام طور پر آئیڈیالوجی کا لفظ استعمال ہوتا ہے۔‬
 TWO NATION TEHORY
‫دو ق ومین ظریہ‬
 In the historical perspective of the sub-continent Two Nation Theory means
that despite living together in the same country, the Hindus and the
Muslims are two separate nations. Though the Muslims and the Hindus
both have been living together for centuries, yet they could not merge with
each other.
‫ برصغیر کے تاریخی تناظر میں دو قومی نظریہ سے مراد یہ ہے کہ‬
‫وطن کے اشتراک کے باوجود برصغیرکے مسلمان اور ہندؤ دو الگ الگ‬
‫تہذب و تمدن ایک دوسرے سے یکسر مختلف ہیں ۔ ان‬ ٰ ‫قومیں ہیں ۔ان کی‬
‫ ان کی رزمیہ‬،‫ مذہب اور مذہبی روایات‬،‫تاریخی واقعات‬، ‫کی تاریخ‬
‫کہانیاں سب میں بہت زیادہ تضاد ہے ۔ یہی تصور نظریہ پاکستان کی‬
‫اساس ہے۔‬
 Islam and Two Nation Theory
‫اسالم اور دو ق ومین ظریہ‬
 The history of two nation theory is as old as the history of man. According to the holy Quran,
the concept of one nation was produced before Adam. Quran says:
“We Said: Go down, all of you from here; but verily there cometh unto you from Me a guidance;
and who so follow My guidance, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. But
they who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, such are rightful owners of the fire. They will be
therein.”

Islam and Two Nation Theory:

 Islam has different character and temperament. The concept of Two Nations was given
by Islam 14 hundred years ago. According to Islam there are only two nations in the
world; Believers and Non believers
‫اسالم کی رو سے لوگوں کی دو اقسام بیان کی گئی ہیں ۔ ایک وہ لوگ جو مسلمان ہیں دوسرے وہ جو‬ 

‫قرآن پاک میں‬، ‫ سو سال قبل دو قومی نظریہ کا تصور پیش کیا‬۱۴ ‫کافر ہیں۔ یعنی اسالم نے‬، ‫غیر مسلم‬
‫تعالی لوگوں سے مخاطب کرنے کے ’’ یا ایھا الذین ( اے لوگو!) اور یاایھا الذین امنوا’’ اے‬ ٰ ‫ہللا‬
‫ایمان والو!‘‘ کے لفظ استعمال فرمائے ہیں۔‬
 Beginning of Two Nation Theory
‫دو ق ومی ن ظریے ک ا آغاز و ارتقاء‬

In the subcontinent Two Nation Theory is as old as the history of the Muslims. Two nations
theory had been formed in India when Raja Samri of Kadanga Noor accepted Islam, because
Hindus and Muslims of Indiabelonged to the same race. They were living in the geographically
connected areas. They were the citizens of one country. There was no huge difference
between their customs. In spite of all these common things, religious fervor had provided
them such a strong base for nationalism which altogether made the Muslims and everything
different from Hindus. It is clear from the words of the Quaid-e-Azam:
 “Pakistan was created on the very first day when first Hindu accepted Islam in India”
‫برصغیر میں دو قومی نظریہ کی بنیاد اسی روز پڑگئی تھی جب ہندوستان میں پہال ہندو مسلممان ہوا تھا ۔ گویا‬ 
‫بر صغیر میں دو قومی نظریے کی ابتداء تو مسلمانوں کی آمد کے ساتھ ہی ہوگئی تھی ۔ پھر مختلف مواقع پر‬
‫ ارتقاء اور استحکام کی صورتیں پیدا ہوتی گئیں۔ بر صغیر میں دو قومی نظریے کا‬، ‫اس نظریے کے اظہار‬
‫ثانی سے ہوتا ہے۔ جب انہوں نے اکبر کے دین الہی کے خالف آواز اُٹھائی اور یہی وہ‬ ؒ ‫ارتقاء حضرت مجدد الف‬
‫ہللا نے اورنگزیب عالمگیر کی وفات کے بعد مسلمانوں کو‬ ؒ ‫نظریہ تھا کہ جس کی بناء پر حضرت شاہ ولی‬
‫احیاء و اتحاد کے کوشش کی۔ اس کے عالوہ مختلف قائدین و عمائدینن ملت اسالمیہ نے دو قومی نظریے کو‬
‫ شامل ہیں۔‬،ؒ ‫قائد اعظم محمد علیجناح‬،‫اقبال‬
ؒ ‫عالمہ محمد‬،‫فروغ جن میں سر سید احمد خان‬

‫دو ق ومین ظریہ اور مجدد ا ل ث‬
 Hazrat Mujaddad Alf Sani explained the Two Nation Theory in 16th and 17th century:-
 “If Muslims want to live like a live nation then they will have to get rid of all those
paganism. They will have to live separately from Hindus. If this consciousness of
separate nationalism is not produced among the Muslims then the fear is that they would
be swept away in the flood of one-nationhood.”

‫ نظریہ وحدت الوجود متحدہ قومیت اور وحدت ادیان کا درس‬

‫اس کی رو سے تمام مذاہب کی بنیاد ایک ہے اسی‬، ‫دیتا ہے‬
‫اوربعض مسلمان‬،‫رامانند‬،‫ بھکت کبیر‬، ‫فلسفے نے گورونانک‬
‫صوفیاء کو ایک صف میں ال کر کھڑا کر دیا ۔حضرت مجدد الف‬
‫ثانی نے مسلمانوں کو ذہن نشین کروایا کہ وہ اپنے جداگانہ‬
‫تشخص کو ہر حالت میں برقرار رکھیں اور ظلمت و تاریکی کے‬
 Shah Wali Ullah & Two Nation Theory
‫ش اہ ولیہللا اور دو ق ومین ظریہ‬
 Shah Wali Ullah was also a great supporter of two nation theory. He saved
the Muslims of the sub-continent at that time when the Muslims decline
was started after the death of Aurangzeb Allamgir in 1707. He advised the
Muslim to be united and followed the Islamic rules & regulations. He also
advised the Muslims to give up Hindu and Un-Islamic values. He
considered that the Muslims are the separate nation from Hindus.
‫ہللا نے بھی دو قومی نظریہ کا پرچار کیا۔آپ نے مسلمانوں کو ہدایت کی‬
ؒ ‫حضرت شاہ ولی‬ 
‫ اسالمی ثقافت اور اپنے ملی ورثےکو ترقی‬،‫ تاریخی روایات‬،‫کہ وہ اسالمی تہذیبب و تمدن‬
‫ اپنے جداگانہ تشخص کو ہر حالت میں برقرار رکھیں۔ہندوؤں کی مستعار کردہ غیر‬، ‫دیں‬
‫آپ نے اسالم کو ہندو مت میں جذب کرنے کی تمام تر‬،‫اسالمی رسموں کو ترک کر دیں‬
‫کوششوں کو ناکام بنا دیا۔‬
 Sir Syed Ahmed and Two Nation Theory
‫س ر س ید احمد خانا ور دو ق ومین ظریہ‬
 Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was the first Indian Muslim political leader who used the word
“Nation” for the Muslims of the sub-continent in 1867. During the Urdu Hindi Controversy he
came forward with two nation concept and declared that the Muslims were a separate
nation, having their own culture and civilization. He talked to Mr. Shakespeare, Governor of
Banaras and explained the two nation theory as:
 “Hindi Urdu conflict is the starting of the space of separation between Hindus and Muslims
which will gradually increase and a day will come when both the nations will separate from
each other after division.”
‫ کی جنگ آزادی میں ناکامی کے بعد مسلمانان بر صغیر سخت بحران میں مبتالء ہوگئے۔‬۱۸۵۷ 
‫ میں بر مال‬۱۸۶۷ ‫سر سید احمد خان نے مسلمانوں کی فالح کا بیڑااٹھایا ۔سر سید احمد خان نے‬
‫کہہ دیا تھا کہ بر صغیر کے مسلمان اور ہندؤو دو علیحدہ علیحدہ قوم ہیں۔ اس سلسلے میں آپ نے‬
:‫فرمایا‬
‘‘‫’’ میں اس بات کا قائل ہو چکا ہوں کہ بر صغیر کے مسلمان اور ہندو دو علیحدہ قومیں ہیں‬ 

‫اس سلسلے میں آپ نے سب سے پہلے مسلمانوں کے لیے علیحدہ’’ قوم‘‘ کا لفظ اس استعمال‬ 
‫کیا۔ اس وجہ سے آپ کو دو قومی نظریے کا بانی کہاجاتا ہے ۔‬
 Allama Iqbal and Two Nation Theory
‫عالمہ اقبا لاور دو ق ومین ظریہ‬
 Allama Iqbal awakened the Muslims of sub-continent with his poetry to demand a separate
homeland. He led the Muslims at every step and rendered great services for the
establishment of Pakistan. Allama Iqbal considered Islam as a complete code of life. He
said that he was fully convinced that thenot live with the Hindus in united India.
 The evolution of the Two Nation Theory got momentum slowly. Allama Iqbal clearly
stressed the need of a separate state by including the province of NWFP, in his address at
Allahabad in 1930. But the British and the Hindus did not agree to it.
‫ کے خطبہ الہ آباد میں‬۱۹۳۰‫عالمہ محمد اقبال ؒ شروع سے ہی دو قومی نظریے کے حامی تھے۔‬ 

‫عالمہ اقبال نے واشگاف الفاظ میں کہہ دیا کہشمال مغربی ہندوستان میں ایک الگ مسلم مملکت بنا‬
‫اقبال نے اپنے تارریخی خطبہ میں نہ صرف بر صغیر کے مسلمانوں کو‬ ؒ ‫دی جائے۔ عالمہ‬
‫علیحدہقوم قرار دیا بلکہ برصغیر کے سیاسی مسائل کا حل تالشکرتے ہوئے علیحدہ وطن کا‬
:‫تصور بھی پیش کیا ۔ آپ ؒ نے فرمایا‬
‫’’ مجھے ایسا نظر آتا ہے کہ اور نہیں تو شمال مغربی ہندوستان میں باآلخر ایک اسالمی‬ 
‘‘‫ریاست قائم کرنا پڑے گی‬
 Quaid-e-Azam and Two Nation Theory
‫ق ائد اعظم اور دو ق ومی ن ظریہ‬
 The Quaid-e-Azam was a big supporter of two-nation theory. He said,
 “The foundation of Two Nation Theory was laid on the day when the first non-Muslim of
sub-continent became Muslim”.
 This two-nation theory was originated with the arrival of the Muslims in the sub-
continent. He said:
 “India is neither a country nor its inhabitants are a nation. This is a sub-continent
where many nations live; among these the Hindu and the Muslim are two important
nations”.
‫جناح مسلمانوں کوہر لحاظ سے علیحدہ قوم اور اسالم کو علیحدہ مذہب تصور‬
ؒ ‫ قائد اعظم محمد علی‬
‫کرتے تھے ۔ قائد اعظم دو قومی نظریے کے زبر دست حامی تھے ۔ وہ مسلمانوں کو ایک الگ قوم تصور‬
‫ـ ’’ قومیت کی جو بھی تعریف کی جائے مسلمان اس تعریف کی رو‬:‫کرتے تھے اس سلسلے میں فرماتے ہیں‬
‘‘‘‫سے الگ قوم ہیں ۔ وہاس بات کا حق رکھتے ہیں کہ اپنی الگ مملکت قائم کریں‬
‫’’ پاکستان تو اسی روز معرض وجود میں آگیا تھا جب ہندوستان میں پہلے‬: ‫ اس کے عالوہ آپ فرماتے ہیں‬
‘‫ہندو نے اسالم قبول کیا تھا‬
 Importance of Two Nation Theory

‫قومی ہی وہ نظریہ تھا کہ جس کی بنیاد پر مسلمانوں نے علیحدہ وطن کے‬
‫حصول کے لیے نظریہ پاکستان کی تشکیلکی اور قیام پاکستان کی تحریک‬
‫ اسی‬،‫چالئی۔ یہی وہ نظریہ جس کی بناء مسلمانوں کو علیحدہ قوم کا رُتبہ مال‬
‫نظریے کی بناء پر مسلمانوں نے مسلم لیگ کی بنیاد رکھی اور ایک الگ‬
‫ملک حاصل کرنے میں کامیاب ہوئے۔‬
