Simple present

• We use the simple present to indicate future appointments or events with a


defined date (and time).
Subject + verb + obejct

Exempli gratia

The train leaves at 9pm. The class starts next week.


The plane to São Paulo takes off at five in the morning.
Present continuous

• We use the present continuous to indicate future appointments that we set on


a specific date.
Subject + to be + verb (ing)

Exempli gratia

I am meeting my friends tomorrow.


He is going to travel with his girlfriend next month.
They are seeing the doctor on Wednesday.

Description of activity about critical thinking
1. Some groups must be divided.
2. Each group takes a paper with a polemic theme..
3. Each group has five minutes to discuss the issue between them.

4. The groups change themes until they reach the first theme of each.
5. The groups will discuss on the topics that each team picked up.
6. The groups will say what they do for or against the topic at hand.

1. The teacher must select some words on little pieces of paper.
2. Each student must pick up three pieces of paper.
3. Each student will have one minute to create a story with the three words they
took.
