+ Difference in English [and Spanish] Bible translations
+ New Testament written in Greek
+ ~5800 Greek manuscripts extant
+ Only four [manuscripts 61, 88, 629, 635] of the 5800 have the passage
+ These four are 16th, 12th, 14th and 11th cent manuscripts
+ Two [88&635] of the four have the passage written in the margin by a later hand
+ No Greek fathers cite it, not in any ancient versions
+ Earliest citation is in 4th cent Latin text attributed to a heretic [not for this]
+ Erasmus published 1st Greek New Testament 1516, based on a few Greek
manuscripts, the passage was not in his first two editions
+ Erasmus included it in his 3rd edition with a footnote expressing his doubt
+ Erasmus Greek New Testament was the Greek text of the King James Bible
+ Modern translations use the United Bible Society Greek Text, phrase absent
+ The passage was likely a gloss, nothing wrong with it, not essential to doctrine
of the trinity, the context also supports that the passage is not original
