HEBREW WORD: SHEOL which means GRAVE
So when is
HELL?
MALACHI 4:1 “For behold, the day cometh, that shall burn
as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly,
shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them
up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither
root nor branch.”

THUS, HELL IS A FUTURE EVENT

IMMORTALITY
The idea that the wicked will burn forever in hell
is based on the premise that they are
IMMORTAL.

BUT ARE WE IMMORTAL?

ARE THERE ANY IMMORTAL SINNERS?

tree of life, and they were driven from the
garden, lest they should partake of the tree of

NOBODY IS IMMORTAL EXCEPT FOR ONE

1 Timothy 6:15&16 “…Lord of lords who only hath

immortality…”

which teach respectively, that humans gain
immortality through accepting Jesus and the gift
of immortality is not granted even to Christians

So, how is it possible for
wicked to burn eternally in
HELL?
According to Augustine,

“God will employ His miracle working

power to keep sinners alive and conscious
in those never ending torments”
BUT THIS IS NOT THE KIND OF GOD THAT WE KNOW

A GOD OF JUSTICE

Isaiah 45:22 “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all

the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is
none else.”
Brethren, the wicked will
not burn eternally in
HELL.
HOWEVER…
Why do the following verses say otherwise:

1. Matthew 3:12 “…eternal punishment…”

2. Matthew 3:12 “…unquenchable fire…”
3. Matthew 25:41 “…eternal fire…”
4. Mark 3:29 “…eternal damnation…”
5. THE KEY TEXT: Revelation 20:10 “… for ever
and ever.”
Let’s take a look at
FOREVER
BIBLE USES THE WORD FOREVER AS SOMETHING
THAT HAS LIMITS:

1. “…and he shall serve him for ever.” Exodus 21:6

2. “…and Samuel was to abide in the temple for ever.” 1
Samuel 1:22
3. “…the earth with her bars was about me for ever…” Jonah
2:6

FOREVER MEANS AS LONG AS A

PERSON LIVES
Let’s take a look at
FOREVER
WE SHOULD NOTE THAT IN THE BIBLE, THE WORD
ETERNAL REFERS TO ETERNAL RESULTS RATHER
THAN TO AN ENDLESS PROCESS.

1. “Even as Sodom and Gomorrah…, are set forth for an example,

suffering the vengeance of ETERNAL FIRE.” Jude 1:7
2 Peter 2:6 tells us that they were turned
into ashes…

2. “…This is the second death.” Revelation 20:14

SATAN’S FATE
Where will Satan be during the millennium?

Revelation says that he will be imprisoned on the

earth “to keep him from deceiving the nations
anymore until the thousand years are ended. After
that, he must be set free for a short time” (Rev. 20:3).
This designates Satan’s time on the death row.”
What will the righteous do in Heaven during
the millennium?
“There will be one problem, though. As people
search anxiously for friends and loved ones, cries
of delight will mingle with tears of
disappointment, for some searches will culminate
in reunions while others will end in loss.”

“Each of us will have a thousand years to leaf

through the heavenly records and confirm for
ourselves God’s justice.”
One more CHANCE for SATAN?
Revelation 20:7 “And when the thousand
years are expired, Satan shall be loosed
out of his prison.”

“But this second chance after the second

resurrection will yield only a second
insurrection, a final rebellion, which will
remove all doubt from the minds of the
redeemed about God’s justice.”
Then God’s loyal followers will
understand that “a million chances”
would only yield a million rebellions.
