Where in the world is ART?

By Melanie Ward

(ART EDUCATION Portfolio Task 9)

Look at my tree house, it’s comfy and warm,
But with nothing at all are my walls adorned.
I needs something bright, something focused on art,
But I don’t know where to look… where do I start?

So back to the old drawing board, so to speak.
Let’s have a look online – Let’s Google and Tweet!
There’s so much to see when you use a search engine.
But it happens so fast, I must pay close attention.

guided tours, images, music and much more can be discovered at the Web Gallery of Art

Google’s so quick, it knows just how to look.

It would take hours if I used a phone book.
And the things that I find… Look! The Web Gallery of Art.
The perfect place to make a start.

But there’s more to art than what just meets the eye.
I love to hear music in my ears when I fly.
I wonder what sounds and what sites can be found?
Let’s try YouTube this time, to see what will abound…

9 Crimes (Rice, 2006)

Sea Sew (Hannigan, 2009) Greatest Hits (Fleetwood Mac, 1990)

So with visual art off the list and reviewed,
And musical notes all coming in cued.
That leaves modern dance or dramatic display,
Though they’re hard to hang on to my wall to replay!

) for each.
I feel refreshed and uplifted with art culture inside me.
My walls are still bare but the visions inspire me.
I’ll open my windows and fling out the doors,
As natural surrounds hold beauty in store.
