or question word is a
function word used to
ask a question, such
as what, which, who,
whom, whose.
INTERROGATIVE PRONOUN

WHAT
asking for information specifying
something.
when you use what as a pronoun, it can
be the subject, object, or complement of a
verb.

example:
"what is your name?"

WHO - what or which person or people.


example:
"who is that woman?“

- used to introduce a clause giving further


information about a person or people
previously mentioned.

example:

more people or things from a definite set.
- used to introduce an additional statement about
something that has already been mentioned.

example:
Which car are we going in?
Which do you prefer?
The dining room was directly off the kitchen, which
was also lavish.

as the object of a verb or
preposition.

example:
"whom did he marry?"
