    “When did my childhood go? Was it the day I ceased to be … the day!”

    1. When according to the poet did the poet lose his childhood? Ans: The poet thinks
    that either it was at the end of age eleven, or when he started thinking rationally about
    the existence of Hell and Heaven.

    2. What made the poet doubt the existence of Hell and Heaven? Ans: The fact that
    there was no existence of Heaven and Hell, made the poet doubt their existence.

    3. Give the significance of the exclamation mark at the end of the extract. Ans: The
    exclamation mark indicates the surprise of the poet at his own realisation about the
    beginning of his adulthood.

    “When did my childhood go? Was it when I found my mind … Was that the day!”

    1. Explain “ my mind was really mine”. Ans: The poet realised that he had complete
    control over his mind and he could reason and think whichever way he chose.

    and mine alone”
