herself into a self-educated intellectual.
● In 1949 moved to London and also
published her first novel, The Grass Is
Singing and her career as a professional
writer

● The Nobel Prize in Literature in 2007.
● Only the 11th woman to become a Nobel
laureate in literature and the oldest recipient, at
the age of 88
● More than 55 works that spanned literary
genres: Novel, short story, drama,…
● Flight was published 1957 in the collection of
short stories " The habit of Loving"
